Days 1 & 2 – Amman
Free time in Jordan’s capital city.
Discover the Roman ruins, enjoy a typical Jordanian lunch or simply explore the historical centre of downtown Amman.
4 nights in Amman
Day 3 – Visit Jerash and Ajlun
After breakfast, drive to Jerash, the “Pompeii of the East” which is one of the largest and best-preserved provincial Roman towns. Continue westward to Saladin’s 12th-century castle.
Day 4 – Desert Castles and the Dead Sea
After breakfast embark on your morning tour of Jordan’s famous Desert Castles. Visit Qasr Kharaneh, the sole castle built exclusively for defence, and Qasr Amra with its beautiful mosaics from the Omayyad era. Stop at the Azraq Oasis, a resting point for one hundred species of migratory birds. Amidst its many pools, visit Qasr Axraq, the black basalt fort which was headquarters for Lawrence of Arabia. Then drive to the incredible Dead Sea. Spend the rest of the day floating and relaxing at one of the resort hotels. Enjoy the sunshine at the lowest point on earth, whilst trying out the invigorating mud bath to cleanse the skin.
Day 5 – Amman City Tour – Madaba – Mount Nebo – Petra
After breakfast take a city tour of Amman, known as Rabbath Ammon and Philadelphia in Biblical times. See the remains of the Roman Theatre, the Archeological Museum and the Citadel containing the remains of the massive Temple of Hercules. After your city tour ,drive to Madaba, home to some of the finest Byzantine mosaics in the world. View the 6th-century mosaic Map of Jerusalem, possibly the oldest map of the Holy City in existence. Continue on to Mount Nebo, the highest point in the Moabite mountain range, offering a remarkable view of the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and the spires of Jerusalem. Then continue to Petra.
2 nights in Petra
Day 6 – Full day in Petra
After breakfast enjoy a full-day tour of the beautiful ‘rose city.’ Begins at the winding canyon road of the “Siq.” At the end of the passage, you’ll see Petra’s most impressive monument — the Treasury — carved out of the solid rock from the side of the mountain. Beyond the Treasury, you’ll discover temples, elaborate royal tombs, a theatre, burial chambers and water channels.
Day 7 – Baida & Wadi Rum
After breakfast, drive to Little Petra, in ancient times the suburb of Petra and have a short walk in this bizarre landscape, which has been settled since 9000 BC then head south to Wadi Rum, a moonscape terrain of a vast desert, ancient river beds and wind-sculpted mountains. Enjoy a 2-hour jeep tour at this oasis home to the film “Lawrence of Arabia.” A truly “out of this world” experience! Then return to Amman.

Day 8 – Continue to your onward destination
